Want to make a difference in another woman’s life? Do you believe God may be calling you to help at The Truth for Women Center? Here are some ways you may get involved.
Be a Mentor
“Women in the community are in need of mentors in many areas of life. Many mentors involved with the Truth for Women Center have experienced life’s difficulties, but through the grace of God have received hope, help and healing. These women are valuable mentors who can offer support, encouragement and sound biblical direction to others. Our trained mentors uphold Biblical standards, professional ethics and model relational etiquette with all clients and staff.”
Teach Life Skills or Job Skills
We are looking for trained volunteers who have a heart for helping teach women life skills that will help them in their everyday life.
We are also looking for volunteers who are trained in various job skills to offer classes to women who are trying to get back into the work force. Due to the economy, many women are in a situation where they must go back to work. We are looking for some basic job skills training in order to give the women an edge in the interview process.
Here are some examples of life skills:
- Plan a budget
- Building a resume
- Basic computer skills
- How to prepare for an interview
- Meal planning on a budget
- Basic cooking
