SEX TRAFFICKING
Sex trafficking, is a form of modern-day slavery in which a commercial sex act is induced by force, fraud or coercion against their will. Sex traffickers frequently target vulnerable people with histories of abuse and then use violence, threats, lies, false promises, debt bondage, or other forms of control and manipulation to keep victims involved in the sex industry.
Sex trafficking exists at much larger rates than most people realize or understand. Most of the time it is right in our own backyard but we do not recognize it or we misidentify it. Sex trafficking has been found in a wide variety of venues including residential brothels, online escort services, brothels disguised as massage parlors, nail salons, strip clubs, and street prostitution.
Women and children are bought and sold in the sex trafficking industry every day. Our own daughters are being targeted for this industry and can fall prey if we do not silence the lies with truth.
The need is desperate to give a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves.
The Truth for Women Center is that voice.
Together with a local coalition we wage war against this rising epidemic to resist the spread of human trafficking, remove its demand and to ensure care and restoration for its victims.
The goal of the Truth for Women Center is to open a therapeutic residential home offering dramatically changed lives. The home will provide opportunity for individualized recovery plans. Each survivor can progress toward successful community reintegration.
